Henley was chosen for the rowing as it is the straightest stretch of the Thames upstream. The first Henley regatta was in 1839. The main clubs train in central London now from the London Regatta centre. The 2012 olympics are going to use the course at Eaton College which is 6 lane and especially constructed for the school. Guess thats what you get if your grandma is the Queen.

Hey Chris,

Why don't show the Pomms how to really row like the Carey guys?

Cheers
