4 Days to go

Well I have just deleted almost a page of text but it was rather a boring rant about the network losing my certificates of service and leaving a message on my phone yesterday to say I'm not actually eliglble for Long Service leave until 2016 then my credit card being declined today. I was seriously considering whether these happenings were a warning. An omen. 'Sue dont go or worse will happen'....Bryan will be seduced by a woman offering roast dinner. He will fail to give way to a boat on a starboard tack and Uggggh No=one will pay the bills. utilities will be cut off, the food in the fridge will go off and you will have to clean it up on your return. Ali will cover the whole house with her sewing and the animals will die of thirst."
Fixed up the pay bizo with a threat to visit the pay mistress. Yes, there was menace in my voice but no code grey was necessary and no-one was injured. Discovered that the "Fraud Falcon" was guarding my credit ...from me. Fraud Falcon noticed when there is an aberrant "try" on your account and blocks it. No matter that you are stranded in a distant land penniless. Now the Fraud Falcon knows to which county I am going care of the helpful lady at the bank, credit card thieves in those countries will have carte blanche.

The good thing that happened today was the letter of introduction I got to the Royal Thames Yacht Club. It will be "My Club" whilst in London. I am looking forward to having high tea with Chris there. Doing the big pack tomoz and heading off Monday.

I am really over work. Just 11days to go. I've got a new white helmet and a battery for the Cateye (cycle computer) paid all the bills ...clean slate of the carte de credit so i'm ready. My replacement at work wont be on board until June 12th or later and my time to review new patients is negligible next week. Caitlin is coming home this weekend and Chris is leaving for Europe this weekend and the Associate Cup is on Sunday (women Skippers)too. It seems that getting away will be a break from the what seems like constant sailing activity which has been great fun. Its getting pretty cold on the water though.

The Lead Up

Its been a while since I've done the cycling thing but its only 20 more days until I set off for the northern hemisphere. My trusty steed has a borrowed pack rack and panniers and I have one pair of shoes, 2 T's and a jumper, 7 lots of undies and 3 bras, 2 bike niks and 3 tops , my tent , sleeping bag and matress , Bryan's old camera and my very useful toy, the ASUS EeePC computer to blog to you from the , hopefully, many internet cafes I will sip caffeine in. Assuming that all this makes it to the UK on June 3rd I'll be spending a week in London then getting on the ferry at Portsmouth on 14/6 to head to belle france. I dont meet mon marriee until August 23rd so I'll have a lot of time to admire the old towns take piks and read, eat and shop.
